Best of Both Worlds

Most people that know me would probably say that I'm a city girl. I have lived in both rural areas and in busy cities so I can adapt to either, but I love where we live here in Knoxville! Our subdivision is literally 2 minutes from shopping (you know necessities like Target!) as well as handful of good restaurants. I can be at a couple of malls in less than 15 minutes or I can be in downtown Knoxville in less than 15 minutes. Yet, the view from my neighborhood is of a peaceful little hillside where there is a small farm. The owner keeps miniature ponies and my kids love to see them out. The other day we walked down to share some veggies with the ponies and the kids were thrilled. Of course I was snapping away with my camera so this is just a tiny sample.

I feel so lucky to live in an area where there are so many great things to do and explore, but where I can also still feel like I'm somewhat in the country. It is definitely the best of both worlds!

And most of all, no matter what I am taking in - country or city - I love seeing all of these things through the eyes of my children. It makes the world seem just a little bit more beautiful and amazing.
